Santa Cruz Fruit Tree Project organizes community fruit harvests and events to share surplus local fruit, reduce waste, and build neighborhood connections.
Have you ever noticed how much fruit falls and rots on the ground? The Santa Cruz Fruit Tree Project is a grassroots organization that seeks to make use of the bounty. We organize community fruit harvests as well as processing events like pressing cider, curing olives, and making jam and wine. We’ve also done some pruning, and hope in coming years to expand our tree care and planting programs.
Our goal is to explore our community and create connections—cultivating relationships within neighborhoods as we enjoy the abundance around us and help move Santa Cruz towards a sustainable future.
